Messages From The Commodore

WSA would like to express it's sincere gratitude to member Peter Schotanus, and his Schotanus Construction Co.
crew of Whitensville, Ma., for the excellent job they did installing the new windows at the Anchorage.
Both the materials and the labor was high-quality, professional work, and we greatly appreciate his
donation of time and effort. The club looks brighter and cheerier,
and we finally have windows that don't leak, and open and lock.Great job, Pete!

Need Help With Your Sailing Endeavors?
Want to start racing? Or just want to have more fun sailing?
Look For Tom Pezzella, or Norm Coultier, or George Chabot around the
anchorage, they have a wealth of knowledge and they also know
others who might have answers.

In Memoriam, by Bill Boyd

Two recent events have significantly improved our Association, the addition of a new Committee Boat, and the replacement of the roof on the Anchorage. Please look under
Projects for photos and information.

In January, 2004, the Executive Committee voted to table any action on weed removal at this time. For the second year, the company previously used to "hydrorake" weeds has not been rehired. This method works better on some species than others, and may actually be counterproductive, encouraging the spread of certain aquatic plants in Winter Cove.  WSA is working closely with the Webster Lake Association, who is presently engaged in the weed control process, to find the most effective environmental and financial solution to this problem.
